Dr. Wamuyu Owotoki earned an MSc
in Pharmacy from the St. Petersburg Pharmacy Academy in Russia
in 2002. She then moved to Hamburg in Germany to pursue a
PhD in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Hamburg. Her
doctoral thesis focused on the synthesis, analysis and biological
activity studies on analogues of N-hydroxypyrrolidin-2,5-dione
natural antibiotics. In addition to gaining valuable research
skills during the PhD work, she was actively involved in the
training and development of Pharmacy students as a coaching
and tutoring assistant. Upon completion of her graduate studies,
she moved to Mannheim to join Physicians World Europe as one
of the Scientific Managers responsible for content development.
Wamuyu has lived, studied and worked in several international
settings and is fluent in five languages including English
(native), Russian, German and Swahili.
