Dr. Wolfgang Schmitt began his
scientific career with training as a medical technician at
Boehringer Mannheim, where he served as Quality Assurance
Manager and worked in the area of pre-clinical cardiovascular
research. He later earned his Diploma in Biology from the
University of Heidelberg and completed his Ph.D. in Biochemistry
and Oncological Research and Therapy at the German Cancer
Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg. During a one-year post-doctoral
fellowship at the DKFZ, he co-authored several original articles
on antibody engineering for cancer therapy.
Dr. Schmitt joined
Physicians World Europe in June 2002 and is now Account
Manager for national and international educational programs.
In addition to his experience in oncology, his other areas
of expertise include cardiology, osteoarthritis and lysosomal
storage diseases. He specializes in the development of guidelines
and qualitative market research.
